Gary Gensler

Gary Gensler is the current chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Nominated by President Joe Biden on Feb. 3, 2021, and confirmed by the Senate on April 14, 2021, Gensler was sworn into office on April 17, 2021.

In this role, Gensler leads the Securities and Exchange Commission to ensure fair, orderly, and efficient markets, facilitate capital formation, protect investors and build public trust in the market.
