Paraguay is a landlocked country located between Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia. Large areas are occupied by swamps, subtropical forests and chaco – a semi-desert area that combines savannah and shrub steppe. The capital is located in the city of Asuncion, lying on the banks of the Paraguay River.
