Singapore is a multinational city-state, a global financial center. It is located on an island and borders the southern part of Malaysia. The heart of the city’s colonial center is the Padang cricket ground, established in the 1830s. It is surrounded by majestic buildings, including the city hall with 18 Corinthian columns. In Chinatown, founded around 1820, is the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, where one of the founder’s teeth is believed to be kept.
